GERMAN WW2 SA DAGGER WITH SCABBARD AND HANGER

$1,050.00 ON HOLD

Quantity Available: 1

Item Code: 490-6783

A good example of a Model 1933 SA (Sturmabteilung) dagger bearing the RZM code M7/80 of Gustav C. Spitzer of Solingen. The RZM was the Reichszeugmeisterei, which officially approved all Nazi party related merchandise sold by private contractors, with the codes first appearing on edged weapons in 1934. The dagger has its original scabbard and hanger, with the latter marked M5/8, the code for E.W. Assmann & Sohne of Ludenscheid.

The blade is largely bright, with some thin gray areas on the body and some darker spots near the point.  The “Alles fur Deutschland” etched motto is clear, with a little thin gray, and some darker gray spots near the point on that side. The RZM cartouche is clear on the other side, though with some thin gray on and above it, with a little at the midpoint, and some darker gray near the point as on the side with the motto. The wood grips are tight, with good color, surface, no nicks or chips, and clear SA and eagle/swastika showing just a couple small spots of gray. There is some minor freckling on the scabbard mounts, a couple of very small losses to the scabbard brown. The hanger shows some loss of finish to the leather from flexing, a clear sign it was actually worn, and a little darkening around the RZM number, which is clear.  Please see our photos.   [sr][ph:m]
