Henry Vining Ogden, Sr. (1823 - 1910) served in the Louisiana Confederate Guards for a few months in 1862 before enlisting in the Washington Artillery of New Orleans in May 1862. He joined the unit at Corinth and was in the 5th Company. He was discharged in July for being "over age" but re-enlisted immediately. He was with the unit until it surrendered with General Taylor to General Canby.
He is buried in the Army of Tennessee Tomb at Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans.
From the collection of the late William Turner. [jet] [PH:L]
