Here is a very nice French pasteboard percussion cap container, unopened and full of caps. Round package made of white pasteboard with green paper labels affixed. A white paper label was pasted along the side to seal the container.
Green label on top shows nice graphics and reads, “AMORCES DE CHASSE. / CANNELEES / AU FULMINATE / DE MERCURE / G.J.”
Produced by the Societie Francaise des Munitions (SFM). The “G.J.” on the label was one of the marks used by Gevelot.
The caps themselves are also known to feature a raised “GJ” on the top. Very minor wear to edges and light soiling, otherwise near perfect sealed pack of caps. [jet] [ph:L]
