This is a full pack of 24 cartridges in very good condition. Green and white plaid box measures approximately 4” x 1 ½” x 1 ¼”. Oval white label is printed with “CARTOUCHES 12 MILLIMETES, HOULLIER-BLANCHARD, ARQUEBUSIER BREVETE, PARIS, A LONGUE PORTEE” and is pasted in the center of the box top. Tied with faded pink string. The corners of the lid have splits but overall, the whole package is in excellent condition.
These were for the 12mm (approx. .44 caliber) Lefaucheux revolver used by many during the Civil War…nearly 12,000 pinfire revolvers were purchased by the Federal Ordnance Department during the first two years of the war! [jet]
