75mm high explosive (HE) round used with the KwK 40 L/48 tank gun mounted in the German Panzer IV medium tank (models H and J).  The case and projectile have been professionally inerted. The round still has its correct C/22 electrical primer fitted (all German medium and heavy tanks had electrical firing systems in World War II).

Overall condition of the round is excellent.  The shell case is marked: “gu” (manufacturer’s code); “44” (date of manufacture); waffenamt (military acceptance stamp); “7,5 cm KwK 40” (75mm tank gun Model 1940); “6339 St” (cartridge case model number/steel construction).  The projectile is marked: “44” (date of manufacture); waffenamt (military acceptance stamp).  The fuse is marked: “evy” (manufacturer’s code); “44” (date of manufacture); “kl AZ 23” (fuse type).
