This scabbard is for the M-1 full stock carbine and is made of OD green canvas.
The rear has a large belt loop and it closes at the front by two lift-dots.
Front has a strong “U.S.” stencil while the inside is strongly marked “LUB. PROD. CO. 1943.”
Author Kenneth Lewis in his book “DOUGHBOY TO GI” says on page 203 that the scabbard was designed for use by artillery units. The scabbard allowed the carbine to be hung from the waist leaving the hands free.
Item is in excellent unused condition. [ad] [ph:L]
