The classic USN diver’s knife; essential equipment for the hardhat divers of the WWII era.
This follows the 1939 specifications with brass fittings, maple handle, and heavy brass screw in sheath.
The carbon steel knife blade is approximately 6.75” long with saw-tooth back. Some minor pitting on blade. Maple grip features nine rings. There is a 1.5” long narrow crack at the lower end.
Heavy brass sheath with drain hole at tip and belt loop. Stamped “A. Schrader’s Son” on the sheath below the throat.
