This is a very nice excavated specimen and was for the 3” Parrott and ordnance rifles. This is only the nose section of the shell; the base cup and sabot fell away when this was fired.

The brass percussion fuse remains tightly screwed into the nose; no dings or scratches.

The iron surface is smooth and clean with very little pitting.  Unknown recovery location. Unloaded and safe.    [jet] [ph:L]
