Made in the 1960’s these were the last bayonets meant for use with the M-1. The drawn bayonet meas. approx. 11.50 inches long. The parkerized 6.75 inch blade is in excellent condition. The last 3.50 inches of the blade is double edged.
Grips are of checkered black plastic. Top of the grip has a groove for attaching the bayonet and the lower portion of the grip, just above the cross guard, has a button release. Top of the grip forward of the groove is stenciled with “C 30” in white paint or ink.
Iron parkerized cross guard is marked on one side of its face with “U.S. M5-1” while the opposite side reads “J. & D. TOOL Co.”
The green plastic scabbard is in good condition with a parkerized iron throat that is marked on the front “U S M8A1” over “B. M. CO.” and reverse is blank. Scabbard is missing its frog.
