This helmet is a World War Two manufactured front seam, fixed bale helmet. The exterior surface has been repainted with a post-war lighter green OD paint. Back of the crown has two small to moderate dents. Finish shows some rubbing. The interior of the shell is clean and free of blemishes. Chinstraps are made of a woven khaki/green material and are sewn to the bales. Strap catch is arrow and claw device of blackened iron.
The exterior of the liner is painted with the same shade of green as the outside of the helmet. The interior has a “tortoise shell” finish with a World War Two suspension system. Liner is marked with a “W” over an oval inside a circle for Westinghouse. Liner chinstrap is gone but both mounts remain. Nape strap is present. Leather sweatband is worn. [ad]
