The exterior of this helmet was originally painted with camouflage colors using various shades of green, brown and white. The colors were separated by heavy black lines. Approx 25% to 30% of the camouflage paint remains, mostly on the skirt. The rest of the surfaces have some wear and a dark patina with tiny speckles of white paint. The exterior is free of any major dents but there is a small dent at the left rear of the crown. The entire exterior shows some light surface dirt and wear consistent with age and use. Both of the “lug nut” type air vents are present.
Interior has original paint with a light coat of surface rust. The leather band for the liner is present but that is all. None of the ears or pads remain. There is no chinstrap but both of the lugs for attaching the chinstrap are present.
The inside left of the skirt is marked with what looks to be “BF64.” This helmet was made by F.C. Bellinger, Fulda, Germany. The size is 64 centimeters. [ad]
