The exterior of this helmet is painted a dark green and is free of any major dents. The front of the crown has one or two minor dents while the right front of the visor has a small amount of surface rust. The entire exterior shows some light surface dirt and wear consistent with age and use. Both of the “lug nut” type air vents are present.
Interior has all the original paint and a leather liner that is stiff and complete except for the drawstring, one ear and one pad. There is no chinstrap but both of the lugs for attaching the chinstrap are present.
The inside left of the skirt is marked “TJ63.” This helmet was made by C. Thiel & Soehne, Luebeck and is a size 63.
