This green hardcover book bears the title of “DER KAMPF IM WESTEN” or “THE BATTLE IN THE WEST” stamped in silver on the front cover.

The front and back covers are very thick and act as a container for the stereo cards and viewer. Upon opening the front cover there is an inset at bottom which holds a folding black metal stereo viewer with stand while at top is a recess holding stereo cards numbering 1-25. Three insets in the back cover hold stereo cards numbered 26-100.

Each card has a view of German soldiers in action in the west. These cards show ground troops, some aircraft and even some naval scenes, but most are of the ground war. All the cards are in excellent condition, all are clean with clear views. The back of each has the number of the card and a caption for the photo on the front.

The covers also contain a 75 page text with several inset color photos explaining the war in the west. The title page reads in full “ Der Kampf im Westen Die Soldaten Führers im Felde” or “The Battle in the West The Führer's soldiers in the field.” The authors are “Edited by Colonel of the General Staff Hasso von Wedel and Reichsamtsleiter Henrich Hansen Reichspressestelle of NSDAP. The volume was published in Munich in 1940.
