FRAMED LOT OF WW2 POLISH STAMPS ISSUED UNDER NAZI OCCUPATION

This is a lot of six WW2 Polish stamps mounted on paper with a Nazi cancellation mark.

The first stamp is green and white and has a bust image of a Nordic looking girl with pigtails in the right foreground. The left background is an open field with a farmer directing his horse and plow. The setting sun is in the background and at center of the sun is a swastika. The upper left corner has a large “12” and a small “+38.” Across the bottom of the stamp is “GENERALGOUVERNEMENT.” Off to one side is an ink stamp with an eagle and swastika above “KRAKAU 26-x-40” surrounded by “EIN JAHR GENERALGOUVERNEMENT”

The second stamp is brown in color and depicts a woman wearing a hood in the right foreground with a row of houses running off into the left background. Upper left has a “24” and a small “+26.” Again, across the bottom is “GENERALGOUVERNEMENT.” With the same German cancellation stamp as described above next to it.

The third stamp is purple and depicts a man in a fur lined hood in the right foreground with a horse and sled in the left foreground. Upper left has a large “30” and a small “+20” again with “GENERALGOUVERNEMENT.” across the bottom. The same German cancellation stamp is present.

Each of the above are mounted on individual slips of paper meas. 3.50 x 3.00 inches which are in turn mounted on an 8.50 x 11.00-inch piece of paper marked “SPECIAL GG CANCELS.”.

At bottom all three stamps and cancellation marks are repeated on another sheet of paper approx. 7.00 x 4.50 inches.

All is housed in a modern frame that meas. approx. 13.50 x 16.00 inches with a label at bottom that reads “WW2 NAZI OCCUPIED POLAND POSTAGE.”  [ad] [ph:L]
