Modern black frame meas. approx. 13.25 x 16.00 inches with glass on both sides.
Frame contains 22 stamps arranged in six rows.
First row: one 3 cent stamp showing Corregidor, two 3 cent stamps showing the flag raising on Iwo Jima and one 5 cent stamp that reads “TOWARD UNITED NATIONS APRIL 25, 1945.”
Second row: two 3 cent stamps showing a Higgins boat and marked “U.S. COAST GUARD” and two 3 cent stamps showing a lot of sailors and marked “U.S. NAVY.’
Third row: two 3 cent stamps showing service members from each branch and titled “ARMED FORCES RESERVE” and two 3 cent stamps picturing a sinking ship with a picture of four men titled “THESE IMMORTAL CHAPLAINS.”
Fourth row: two stamps depicting a soldier with a rifle titled “THE NATIONAL GUARD OF THE U.S.” and two 3 cent stamps picturing a tank and a bust of General George Patton.
Fifth row: two 3 cent stamps showing US troops marching down the Champs Elysees in Paris and two 3 cent stamps showing women from the four branches of the military titled “WOMEN IN OUR ARMED SERVICES.”
Sixth row: two 3 cent stamps depicting a cargo ship labeled “PEACE AND WAR – U.S. MERCHANT MARINE.”
All stamps are in good condition and mounted on black paper. Bottom center of the frame has a plastic label that reads “WW2 USA POSTAL STAMPS.” [ad] [ph:L]
