This brass shield-shaped piece with a cut-out star in the center was likely one piece of a reunion badge and was once suspended from some type of pin bar.

In the center of the star is a Confederate flag. Above and below the flag reads, “UNITED CONFEDERATE VETERANS REUNION / DALLAS, TEXAS.”

Brass has a dark patina.  [jet] [ph:L]
