Two-piece brass United Confederate Veterans reunion medal from the 1906 reunion in New Orleans. Top hangar has raised lettering that reads, “61 UCV 65 VETERAN”. Original pin on reverse is present. Suspended from the bar is a medal which has the raised images of the Confederate battle flag, the 3rd National Confederate flag, a crescent moon, and a bearded bust portrait of a Confederate soldier. It reads, “61 UCV 65, NEW ORLEANS, APRIL 25, 1906”.
Original gilt is bright, but some darkened spots are present, most obviously on the flag on the right side of medal. The reverse has a maker’s mark that reads, “SCHWABBS & S, CO, MILWAULKEE”.
