Below this is a Maltese cross shaped drop with a full-color enameled Confederate battle flag at center. In a circle around the flag is “UNITED CONFEDERATE VETERANS MAY 10-13, 1899.” Starting at the top each arm of the cross is inscribed with a different word “9^TH ANNUAL REUNION CHARLESTON, S.C.”
