The cotton printed 36-star US flag is attached to a round wooden dowel and meas. 7.75 inches on the hoist x 10.00 inches on the fly. Each side of the flag is marked “GAR” in heavy black lettering.
Affixed to the dowel by string is a GAR membership badge in very nice condition as well as a GAR post card bearing a 1909 postal mark from Pittsburgh. The card is addressed to a Mrs. Daniel Benchoff of Fairfield, Pennsylvania which is only 7 or so miles west of Gettysburg.
With the item is a modern note saying the three pieces were purchased at an estate sale in Fairfield. [ad][ph:L]
