The top bar of this badge is very well designed and is attractive to the eye. It has a spread-winged eagle perched on a riband above an oval shaped medallion. The riband reads “DETROIT MICH. 1908” and the medallion below it bears the state seal. All this is flanked by two full color US flags done in red, white and blue enamel. Reverse has the original pin.
Suspended from the top piece by small chain links is a metal plaque with raised lettering that reads “DELEGATE 30TH STATE ENCAMPMENT DEPT. OF MICHIGAN G. A. R.”
Suspended from the above is a circular drop bearing the likeness of the Commander of the Michigan Department of the GAR.
Running behind the three pieces of the badge is a red ribbon that is in very nice condition. Reverse of the ribbon still holds the maker’s label. [ad] [ph:L]
