This badge is for the Admiral Foote Post #17 in New Haven, Connecticut.

The top bar is stamped brass with a scrollwork edge design. At center of the bar is a white strip of celluloid that reads “CONNECTICUT.” Reverse of the bar has the original pin. Suspended from the top bar is a red white and blue ribbon that meas. approx. 2.00 inches wide x 4.75 inches long with worn lettering at bottom that reads “ADMIRAL FOOTE POST NO. 17 NEW HAVEN-SARATOGA  SEPT. 1, 1907.” Also suspended from the top bar and hanging in front of the ribbon is a large G.A.R. star that is approx. 2.00 inches wide. At center of the five-pointed star is the G.A. R. crest surrounded by “GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC VETERAN.” Each arm of the star has a branch of service insignia, they include crossed sabers, crossed rifles, crossed cannons, Infantry hunting horn and an anchor.

The ribbon is curled some at the bottom and has some light surface dirt. The top has two or three pinholes.
