Top bar is made of stamped brass and frames a piece of celluloid with a red and blue GAR Membership badge at center flanked by “GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC.” This bar has a pin on back. The ribbon is solid black with silver lettering and has coiled bullion tassels along the bottom edge. Below the top bar is a short white ribbon that runs to the halfway point of the lower black ribbon and ends with a celluloid button depicting Union Veterans at a comrades grave. Attached to the body of this white ribbon are crossed cloth US flags that are sewn with curls in them so they look like they are waving in the breeze. Below the celluloid button is silver lettering that reads “IN MEMORIAM-FOUR BROTHERS POST, NO. 463, G.A.R. MONTROSE, PA.” The whole ribbon meas. approx. 8.00 inches long x 2.25 inches wide. The ribbon is fairly clean with good colors. Reverse has a nice complete maker’s label.
