This is for the 39th Separate Company of the National Guard of the State of New York. &.50 inch red ribbon with a border of gold on each side. At top is crossed rifles with the letters "N. G. S. NY." Below this is "Watertown, NY." Near the bottom is a knapsack with rolled blanket on top with "39 Sep. Co." on the knapsack flap. Below this is "Nov. 10, 19, 1887." All lettering and decoration is in gold thread. Ribbon is slightly worn at top and repaired with some old tape. Back side is the same design but without the dates at bottom and is done in an off white; looks to be another ribbon that someone attached to the back of the red one.
