Two piece medal. Top bar has pin on back. Face is scroll with embossed lettering that reads “NATIONAL ENCAMPMENT , NEW CASTLE 1919.” Lower section is 5 armed cross superimposed over a laurel wreath. The bottom two arms of the cross have crossed rifles, swords, cannon and anchor while the upper three have the initials “F. G. P.” Over the center of the cross is a star-studded shield with “U.V.L. 1861-1865.” Some light wear and dirt from storage but still very nice.
