Insignia consists of a stamped brass wreath approx. 2.50 inches wide with a central brass bar with brass letters “SV” for Sons of Veterans.

Reverse has four prongs for attaching to a hat.

The name of the organization was later changed to Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War or SUVCW.  [ad]
