This is a pair of boards for an Infantry Major. Each board has a triple border made up of a repetitive pattern of four strands of bright bullion followed by one of dead bullion. The border is also outlined inside and out with a row of dead bullion. The central field is of sky blue and displays the rank in gold bullion. The bottoms do not have a solid backing. The material from the front is folded over on four sides and tacked in place. Each board has one or two threads loose on the boarder and the bullion is dirty from age and storage otherwise they are in nice condition. All four original hooks are present on the reverse of each board. [sm]
