Here is an extra fine Civil War officer’s hat cord that we can offer to the public. In original condition, this accoutrement is a pleasing combination of black and brown thread interwoven with gold bright and all-dead bullion thread that produced a good looking uniform head gear accessory. The rolled, ¼” diameter cord-like bullion material measures 28” in length and features two very fine, delicately braided, acorn-shaped tassel ends that are tight gold and black bullion. Cord ends slip through a ½” long barrel-like bullion knot adjuster to fit the base of the crown on the officer’s slouch hat. Entire hat cord is in extra fine condition with no pulls, rips, or fraying. These officer uniform accessories are becoming difficult to find. An officer’s fine, original hat cord in excellent condition.
