Maker mark [inner crown]: “Ridabock & Co….New York.” Low-crowned blue wool kepi with brass hunting horn atop & numerals “64” center front. Black bridal leather chin strap with eagle side buttons, stiff patent leather brim. Intact leather sweatband, with black linen lining. Kepi wool exhibits dusty patina & a number of small mothing holes, with small one inch tear along the upper front crown. Brim leather exhibits light cracking. Brass displays light verdigris. Else VG. Highly attractive with infantry horn & numerals. With moderate cleaning, a solid Indian War infantry display piece.
