Flag features the palmetto tree and crescent moon on a dark blue background. Flags like this were commonly used as a political statement encouraging secession. This flag dates to circa 1860, in the days leading up to the Civil War. It is made of polished cotton, and is tattered and torn from heavy use and age. This could be a nice restoration project, but is framed and ready to display as is.
Flag measures approximately 13” x 22” at widest points. Black frame measures 20” x 26”. Flag has been placed on a muslin background in frame. [sl]
