This is a very nice looking relic. Upper portion of a metal scabbard for an import Model 1850 Foot Officer’s sword. Section meas. approx. 8.25 inches over all and includes the throat and the first hanger and loop. Hanger has nice oak leaf decoration. Loop is present but bent. Piece is slightly twisted with scattered dents. Nice green patina over most of the item. Old small typed label attached reads “OFFICER’S SABRE SCABBARD FROM COLD HARBOR, VA. BATTLEFIELD JUNE 27, 1862. FOUND 1963.”
