This “dug” button has a beautiful face. The state seal in center surrounded by motto. The right amount of gilt remains to highlight all details on the button face. A smooth brown patina under the gilt.
The back is slightly pushed in with the shank in place but bent over. “WM. H. SMITH & CO / NEW YORK” backmark.
Overall, very good and displayable condition; excellent face. Unknown recovery location. [jet] [ph:L]
