Here is a brass bullet mold for Army revolvers (.44 caliber). Two cavity type; one round ball, one “old model” conical ball. Typical Civil War-era mold in good relic condition; brass shows dark patina and iron sprue cutter is rusted. Cavities show no dings or scrapes. Mold opens and closes, but sprue cutter is frozen in place.

Brass hinge style mold with integral sprue cutter is attached at the end by a pin.

This mold is from the collection of author/publisher Dean Thomas and is one of the three molds pictured in his book, “Round Ball to Rimfire, Part Three” on page 82.   [jet] [ph:L]
