This is a dug U.S. waist belt plate. Nice piece that shows a light wear and a few small dings on edge. Face has been over cleaned but still exhibits a reddish-brown patina. There is about 95% lead on reverse with “puppy-paw” style hooks in place.
Maker’s stamp in the lead, “W.H. SMITH / BROOKLYN”.
