BROKEN SPUR FROM UNION CAMPSITE AT BANK’S FORD

$45.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 236-173

This was a Federal officer’s style spur. Brass with stippled surface and engraved flourish at the neck.

This spur was broken in two and, by the color, appears to have been tossed in a fire. One arm retains the neck and rowel. The other arm is separate.

Recovered in a Union campsite on the north side of the Rappahannock River near Bank’s Ford.  Excavated by Dean Thomas.  [jet] [ph:L]
