This is a .69 caliber Nesler bullet. Copied from Crimean War pattern bullets.

These were made for North Carolina troops in Raleigh, NC, at the N.C. Institute for the Deaf, the Dumb, and the Blind.  This is the short pattern of this type of bullet.  It features a round nose, one deep groove, and a solid base.  Perfect white patina. Nice mold seam.

This was recovered from the Orange, Virginia area.  [jet] [ph:jet]
