$275.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 2022-1307

This is an excavated Civil War iron picket pin.  A regulation piece of equipment for cavalrymen. Used to stake-down a horse temporarily while on picket or grazing.

Measures 13” long overall.  Iron “figure 8” loop swivels around the top. The “ball” at the top is somewhat flattened from being hammered into the ground.

Untreated iron remains rusty as is typical for “dug” relics. Iron is in very good condition and stable.

Recovered from a New York cavalry camp site near Fredericksburg, Virginia.

A “dug” picket pin in great shape.   [jet] [PH:L]
