This Civil War artifact is a relic, .30 caliber ‘Pepperbox’ style revolver recovered from the Shiloh battlefield in Tennessee sometime after the war. Impossible to accurately define the maker of this pocket sidearm, the piece is in relic condition and was most likely discarded after the owner stripped it for parts. With a heavily pockmarked surface, the pepperbox has lost its wood grips, left side plate and main spring and features an empty cylinder, hammer and trigger frozen shut. An original Civil War relic Pepperbox revolver from Shiloh Tennessee. [ra]
