This is a nearly perfect excavated SNY belt plate. Pattern 1839 belt buckle with puppy-paw hooks. Beautiful smooth, brown face with the letters “SNY” in the center. A few minor “dings” on the face from use. 100% lead on back. All hooks remain. Written on back of plate, “Found at Cold Harbor VA 1960”.
It will be hard to find a better “dug” SNY belt buckle. [jet]
