This is an excavated, iron picket pin. A regulation piece of equipment for cavalrymen. Used to stake-down a horse temporarily while on picket or grazing. Measures 14” long overall. Iron “figure 8” loop swivels around the top. Some pitting to the surface but in very good and stable condition for a “dug” relic. [jet]
