Excavated .69 caliber Nesler bullet made in Raleigh, NC, for North Carolina troops. These were commonly called “shotgun slugs” in the past. This is the short pattern of this type of bullet. These were copied from a similar pattern of bullet originally used in the Crimean War. The state of North Carolina had these manufactured at the state institute for the deaf, dumb, and blind located in Raleigh. Good condition with a light gray patina.  [jet]
