Oval Pattern 1839 cartridge box plate made of a stamped brass face with embossed “US” and a lead filled back with two attachment loops.
The face has a nice even brown patina with small amounts of surface wear from use. Edges are free of nicks.
The reverse has 100% of the lead fill and both attachment loops in good condition. Written across the face of the lead in red marker is the place of recovery “FREDERICKSBURG.”
