This Hotchkiss time fuse adapter is made of lead, which was used early during the war to make some Hotchkiss fuse plugs. It would have taken a paper time fuse. The head is rounded but not flanged, with spanner holes in the top. This adapter is threaded about ¾” down the body. There are case-shot imprints towards the bottom of the threads. This adapter is in fired and dug condition, with some dirt in the threads and channel and discoloration as a result of oxidation. It measures approximately 2 ½” in length. [JT]
