This shell fragment meas. approx. 2.50 inches high x 2.00 inches across the bottom. This is most of the lower section of the upper half of a 3.00 inch Hotchkiss projectile. The item is rusted but this has been stabilized and a coat of clear lacquer added.
Attached to the base of the fragment is an old typed label that can be partially read but unfortunately most of the text is obliterated.
