This relic condition Sharps Carbine still has model stamping visible on the lock plate, a clear serial number (C26229) on the loading breech and partial patent stamp above the hammer. It is missing its fore stock and has significant finish loss. The wood has a 5 inch long split originating at the butt of the gun where the screw is missing. There is also some wood loss near the tongue of the trigger guard. The spring for the hammer still appears tight though the loading lever is rusted in place. Heavy pitting on the barrel. This .54 caliber carbine is an excellent retrieved relic example of a classic carbine.
