Fired from a 32 pounder smoothbore, rifled 32 pounder, 6.4inch Brooke, or a Parrott rifle. This grape stand was recovered from the wreck of the USS Cairo sunk in the Yazoo River at Haines Bluff in 1863 by Confederate forces. The most common caliber used in the deep south water ways and forts, this example is in excellent condition.
