Excellent clear view of the Antietam National Cemetery looking down on it from above. Photo is by B. W. T. PHREANER of Hagerstown, Maryland.
The view was taken from the roof of the cemetery gatehouse looking south toward the large soldier monument which stands in the middle of the cemetery.
Stereo view is mounted on heavy orange stock with Phreaner’s name along one edge and “PICTURESQUE WESTERN MARYLAND, ANTIETAM BATTLEFIELD” on the other.
Reverse has period ink inscription of “ANTIETAM CEMETERY.” Reverse has some light surface dirt. [ad] [ph:L]
