Offered here is a perfectly clear 1/4 plate tintype image featuring three Union infantrymen. Are they friends or family?

Two of the infantrymen are seated in front, with the third standing behind. Soldiers wear regulation 9-button frock coats. The two seated men are non-commissioned officers; a corporal and a sergeant. The coat sleeves of the third man are hidden.

Image is very clear. The trousers and chevrons have been lightly tinted in blue and button gilted.

The case is complete and shows wear to the raised areas of the geometric design. A very nice group image.   [jet][ph:L]
