Glass slide shows a nice view of Davis later in life. Slide is clean and clear. Handwritten label along one edge reads “JEFF DAVIS/HISTORICAL PORTRAITS/CIVIL WAR/20.” Opposite edge has a typed label that reads “JEFF DAVIS.”
Flipping the slide over reveals the maker’s mark on the edges of the glass. The maker mark reads “T. H. McALLISTER, MANUFACTURING OPTICIAN…NASSAU STREET, NEW YORK.”
