This is a fine CDV image of a group of four officers sitting under the shade of trees. Two of the officers that are standing are wearing regulation dark blue uniforms. Two others are seated and wearing what are likely gray state militia uniforms. All four are fully outfitted and have their swords and caps. All four display officer’s shoulder straps of various ranks. The men wearing gray have wide black stripes on their trousers.
Rockwood & Co., New York backmark. Blue Revenue stamp on back.
Clean image and mount. Rare outdoor photograph. See also item #490-6861 for similarities; apparently recorded at same time in same camp. [jet][ph:L]
