CDV of an unknown Confederate officer wearing a kepi with oil cloth rain cover and a light-colored double-breasted frock coat with the single star of a major clearly visible on his collar.

Contrast is a little on the light side but with good clarity. Paper and mount have moderate surface dirt from age and storage.

Reverse has a photographer’s imprint for JOHN GOLDIN & CO… WASHINGTON, D.C. Reverse has a name in period ink at the top that looks to be “CLAIR” but this is not positive.
